First Contact 2161 Further Investigations
A zephyr of a breeze lightly swirled the leaves of the large tree that rose above the couple. Jesymi was almost salivating as Darcy unpacked all the food that he had brought along for their picnic. What was most enticing, at first, to her eyes were the fresh fruits that he had in sealed plastic boxes. She could only recognise one, a vibrantly red large berry she knew as Strawberries. She had never tried them. “Where did you get all this fruit Darcy?” “We get a daily shipment from Earth with a lot of fresh supplies. Now that we have an embassy here we are able to ferry in whatever we need via the relay network and it doesn’t take more than a day or so to get here. We can bypass a lot of the red tape and bureaucracy which means our supplies do not have to linger in customs inspections.” “Hmm…it is the same for us as well. It is good to know that you are being afforded the same privileges as the rest of the established races.” She pointed to the two boxes next to the Strawberries. “What

The walk back to the embassy was surreal. Jesymi was stilling feeling both the effects of lunch plus a few cups of plum wine and more so, the heady, exhilarating rush of meeting someone that she really connected with and who liked her as much as she liked them. It was completely uplifting. She walked slowly, thinking about every detail that she had experienced over the past four hours. The way in which Darcy was so polite, curious, and kind with her. She had so much wanted to touch his light brown hair as she sat next to him during lunch, wanting to feel the tactile sensation that she had read about from Asari who had been with human partners already. It was one of the many aspects of humanity that Asari were very much enamoured with. Some Asari poets had already penned verse to the beauty of human hair and a few Mega Music Stars had written songs about the touch of a human lovers hair. She meandered her way back into her office and was somewhat startled when Laylia called out to her

Jesymi stood there not knowing what to say next. She was so relieved when Darcy took the initiative and broke the silence. “Umm…I wonder if you could help me perhaps Jesymi?” Her eyes widened slightly in slight surprise at his request. “What do you require help with?” She was genuinely curious. “Well…as you probably know, I have only recently arrived on the station. I have been given quarters here however it is barely furnished, well just enough to be livable but definitely not comfortable. I wonder if you could tell me where I might acquire more furnishings for my apartment please?” Jesymi was amazed. He gets a whole apartment? She had to share her apartment with her four co-workers. They all got on well however there was hardly a time when they had time alone to themselves. “You need my help in buying furniture?” This was indeed curious yet extremely intriguing and something very new. No one had ever asked her to help them pick out furniture before. He nodded and smiled at her
Data flicked across the screen in a never ended torrent. Jesymi Waevel was feeling bored as she sat at her workstation in the small office. Her place of employment was a part of a collection of small consulates for the individual Asari Republics of Thessia. All of which came under the purview and responsibility of main Asari embassy and administration based in the Citadel. Jesymi had no glorious purpose, she was just a mid-level officer worker. She had been doing this dead end job for the best part of a decade. The life of being a commando or being in the Asari military was something she was never interested in although she had completed a 20 year term as a civilian Law Enforcement Officer back on Thessia for her home republic of Serrice. Yet that was not a satisfactory vocation for her as she wasn’t an aggressive Asari and working in law enforcement meant that often you would have to use force and violence made her feel queasy. She glanced around her office and looked to see what
